Carisma was founded in Torino, Italy, in 1975 by brother and sister, Savina and Luigi Viano, who continue to head the company. It is a member ofAssICC (Italian Chemical Trade Association) and cooperates in the Responsible Care programme.Carisma imports, exports and distributes recovered solvents, glycols and liquid chemical products in bulk, and is a European leader in the marketing of stripping compounds and bituminous primers. In the 1970s it was one of the first companies in Italy to market recovered solvents, disseminating the practice of environment-friendly recovery of used solvents and correct re-usage methods. In that period, the company expanded its presence to most of the European market, both for the purchase of primary and secondary raw materials to be perfected, and for the sale of regenerated products, becoming a recognized reference point between the most qualified European regenerators and commodity distributors and the consumer companies in the coatings, thinners, adhesives, printing, cleansing, surface treatments, and additives sectors for the textile, tanning and construction industries. Since 1984 the company processes solvents and glycols under contract: batch mixing, extraction, neutralization and filtration. Carisma also has offices in France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Turkey and China.
